Project:  Federal Correctional Institution at Aliceville

RW was awarded the precast modular cell package for its 8th Federal facility during the last quarter of 2008.  The project marks the 8th Federal Bureau of Prions project for the RW team.  RW mobilized its project team and onsite manufacturing facility to the project location during the last few months of 2008.  Casting began in March of this year and the last cast came off of the line on October 21, 2009.

Project:  LaPalma Correctional Facility 
Location:  Eloy, AZ
Description:  768 Prefinished Cells

Rotondo Weirich received the notice to proceed for the new CCA facility mid-November, 2007.  The first module was cast at the RW onsite manufacturing facility on January 3, 2008.  During the six week pre-construction period, RW mobilized its module forms, mobile fabrication shop, Project Management Team and a fully functioning casting and finshing facility to the onsite location within yards of the construction site.  Continuing on this fast-track time line, the first complete housing unit was erected on June 13, 2008- 30 weeks from RW's Notice to Proceed for the project.  Occupancy of the facility was achieved in
less than one year's time.

Project:  Mystic River Modernization
Location:  Somerville, MA
Description:  240 prefinished, precast kitchen & bathrooms additions

The Precast Concrete Institute has recognized RW with one of its 2008 Design Awards. RW’s Mystic River Modernization Project received recognition for excellence in the category “Innovation in Sustainability”. The project scope included 240 Kitchen and Bathroom Module additions to an existing apartment complex in Somerville, MA. The precast modules were fully outfitted with fixtures and accessories prior to erection at the housing site. In addition, the modules were cast with an integral series of reveals and rustifications to provide a sharp horizontal “clapboard” effect with trim at window and horizontal joints. The module additions provided an efficient and effective solution to the needs of the housing community. By utilizing creative precast modular applications, RW actively engages in the industry wide effort to provide highly sustainable construction solutions.
